Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 9, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Brazil Safe Travel ("BST", "we", "our", or the "App") handles information related to your use of the application.

1. Overview

Brazil Safe Travel was designed to provide safety context and travel guidance for people visiting Brazil. As a general operating principle, BST does not store personal user data or user location history as part of the normal operation of the application.

2. Data We Do Not Store

In the normal operation of BST, we do not store:

  • your real-time location on our servers;
  • location history for later tracking;
  • movement profiles, routes, visited places, or travel routines;
  • user accounts with personal history linked to map usage;
  • personal data submitted for behavioral profiling.

If location features are used on your device, that happens only to enable local app functionality. BST does not keep that information as a persistent user record.

3. Data We May Receive in a Limited Way

We may receive minimal and non-sensitive technical information only when necessary to maintain basic app operation, operational security, technical support, or app distribution.

This information may include:

  • device and operating system version details;
  • temporary technical logs for error diagnosis;
  • information necessary to respond to support requests that you submit voluntarily.

When such information exists, it is used only for app operation, stability, security, and support. It is not used to track your movements or build personal travel profiles.

4. Location

BST may use device location to present local context inside the app. This depends on the permissions you grant on your device.

However:

  • your location is not stored by BST as a persistent user history;
  • your location is not sold, shared for behavioral advertising, or used to create commercial profiles;
  • location use exists only for the app's immediate functionality on your device.

5. Map Data Sources

The areas marked on the map are based on public data, news reports, public incident references, and informational materials collected and reviewed between 2024 and 2026.

This information is used for awareness and informational purposes only. It is not real-time monitoring and may become outdated, incomplete, or inaccurate over time.

6. How We Use Limited Technical Information

When minimal technical information is processed, it may be used to:

  • keep the application working properly;
  • fix errors and technical failures;
  • respond to support requests submitted by you;
  • improve service stability, compatibility, and security.

We do not use this information to sell personalized advertising or build individual behavioral profiles.

7. Sharing with Third Parties

BST does not share stored user location data because it does not maintain that kind of history as part of normal operation.

We may use service providers strictly necessary for hosting, app distribution, technical support, or technical observability. If that occurs, processing is limited to what is necessary for service operation.

We may also disclose information if required by law, court order, legal process, or when necessary to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the app and third parties.

8. Security

We adopt reasonable measures to protect the operation of the application and any minimal technical data that may be processed. Even so, no system is entirely risk-free, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Retention

As a rule, BST does not maintain a database of personal user location history.

Limited technical information, when it exists, is retained only for the time reasonably necessary for operation, diagnosis, security, legal compliance, or support.

10. Your Rights

Depending on the laws applicable where you live, you may have rights related to personal data, including the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information we may process.

To exercise these rights, contact us at the email address listed at the end of this policy.

11. Children

BST is not intentionally directed at children and does not seek to collect personal data from minors.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, the update date on this page will be revised.
